Occupational Health Physician – Clinical Excellence at Symbios Health
Salary Range: £80,000 - £130,000 FTE (pro rata) depending on experience
Hours: Part-time (15 – 37.5 hours per week)
Location: This is a hybrid role, combining face-to-face visits with home-based case management and service improvement.

We are seeking an Occupational Health Physician to join our team as a key clinician during this next phase of our journey.
The Opportunity
This role offers a unique and exciting combination of clinical autonomy and professional mentorship. You will work alongside our Accredited Specialist (Consultant) and the company Founders, providing a supportive environment for your clinical and professional development.
You will deliver high-quality occupational health services through a flexible hybrid model, offering a mixture of remote work-from-home case management and face-to-face consultations at client sites, primarily located in the South West around Plymouth and Exeter.
What You Will Be Doing
- Case Management: Undertake management referrals, fitness-for-work assessments, workplace adjustments, and return-to-work planning.
- Clinical Consultations: Deliver face-to-face consultations at client sites and conduct home-based telephone or video consultations with clarity and empathy.
- Reporting: Produce comprehensive, professional medical reports for employers, providing clear opinions and actionable recommendations.
- Quality Standards: Support the company's journey toward SEQOHS accreditation, helping to maintain the highest standards of care.
- Compliance: Advise clients and the team on compliance with UK occupational health legislation and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
- Qualifications: Full GMC registration with a license to practice. A minimum of a Diploma in Occupational Medicine (DOccMed) is required. We also welcome applications from those with AFOM, MFOM, or FFOM.
- Clinical Expertise: Proven experience in occupational health case management and fitness-for-work assessments.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and senior stakeholders.
- Mindset: A proactive, flexible approach with a keen interest in quality improvement and service delivery.
- Travel: Ability to conduct regular onsite client visits, primarily in the Devon/South West area.
